Maximizing Sweep
Every source of Sweep, with its maximum value and how to get there. The Torrhus Canyon update changed how Sweep works, so older guides are out of date.
What Sweep does
The most important foraging stat. Sweep breaks more blocks per swing, so you get through trees a lot quicker.
Base Sweep
This is the base Sweep, before any tree-specific bonuses.
Base Sweep, all trees
655.26
22 sources, fully maxed
| Gear | +335.26 |
| Heart of the Forest | +170 |
| Agatha & Miria Shops | +50 |
| Attribute Shards | +63 |
| Pets | +32 |
| Consumables | +5 |
| Base total | 655.26 |
Gear
David's Cloak+102
| Milestones I-XXX | +1 each for I-V, rising to +5 each for XXI-XXX | +100 |
| Uncommon Foraging Sweep Booster | Common gives 1 | +2 |
| Total | +102 |
100 from milestones plus an Uncommon booster. The biggest single Sweep source.
Each of the 30 milestones needs 5 more unique attributes unlocked, 150 in total. Crucially you only need to OWN one shard of an attribute, not level it, so breadth beats depth here. Legendary siphoning needs Hunting 20, which the fusion machine can grind profitably.
David's Cloak gives up to +102 sweep.
Helix Chopper+115.26
| Base x Legendary | 50 base x 1.1 | +55 |
| Uncommon Foraging Sweep Booster | Common gives 5 | +10 |
| Logs-cut ability | Highest observed. Grows as you cut logs, no confirmed cap | +48 |
| Iron Axe Axed | x1.02 on the whole total | |
| Total | +115.26 |
115.26 with an Uncommon booster and the ability at 48. The ability keeps growing, so treat this as a floor.
The single best booster upgrade in the game: +5 Sweep for one Maxim trade. Do the axe before anything else. The logs-cut ability has no confirmed ceiling, so a heavily used axe can exceed the number above.
Helix Chopper gives up to +115.26 sweep.
Helix Armor (4 pieces)+100
| Base | Per piece. The update raised Helix armor from 10 to 20 | +20 |
| Uncommon Foraging Sweep Booster | Common gives 2 | +5 |
| Total | +100 |
25 Sweep per piece, 100 for the full set.
Unlike Fortune, armor Sweep has no reforge, enchant or gem component. Base plus booster is the whole story.
Helix Armor (4 pieces) gives up to +100 sweep.
Honeycomb Necklace+7
5 base plus an Uncommon booster.
Upgrades from the Mangrove Locket. See the Fortune guide for the recipe and the materials caveat.
Honeycomb Necklace gives up to +7 sweep.
Veilshroom Bracelet+7
5 base plus an Uncommon booster.
Upgrades from the Mangrove Grippers.
Veilshroom Bracelet gives up to +7 sweep.
Torrhus Belt+4
2 base plus an Uncommon booster.
The smallest gear Sweep source. Low priority.
Torrhus Belt gives up to +4 sweep.
Heart of the Forest
HOTF Sweep+50
+1 Sweep per level, 50 levels.
The very first node in the tree, so every player has access to it immediately. Cheap early, expensive late.
HOTF Sweep gives up to +50 sweep.
HOTF Foraging Madness+10
Flat +10 Sweep (and +50 Fortune).
A tier 4 unlock that pays into both stats at once.
HOTF Foraging Madness gives up to +10 sweep.
HOTF Lottery+10
Flat +10 Sweep. New behaviour since the Helix update.
A tier 4 node. Before the update this gave a percentage; it is now a flat +10.
HOTF Lottery gives up to +10 sweep.
HOTF Forest Strength+50
| Formula | perk level x 0.001 x your Strength | |
| Strength cap | 1,000 | |
| Level 50, 1,000 STR | +50 | |
| Total | +50 |
+50 at perk level 50 with 1,000 Strength.
Gives the same amount to Sweep as it does to Fortune. Manual input, since the API does not expose your Strength for this.
HOTF Forest Strength gives up to +50 sweep.
HOTF Forest Speed+50
| Formula | perk level x 0.002 x your Speed | |
| Speed cap | 500 | |
| Level 50, 500 SPD | +50 | |
| Total | +50 |
+50 at perk level 50 with 500 Speed.
Same value as Forest Strength, at a much lower stat requirement. Manual input.
HOTF Forest Speed gives up to +50 sweep.
HOTF Maniac Slicervaries
| Formula | floor(your Mana / 100) | |
| Total | varies |
+1 Sweep per 100 Mana. Scales with your Intelligence, so no fixed cap.
At 2,000 Mana this is +20, at 5,000 it is +50. Manual input.
HOTF Maniac Slicer gives up to varies sweep.
Agatha & Miria Shops
Agatha's Power+25
+5 Sweep per level, 5 levels. Flat since the Helix update.
This used to be a percentage multiplier. The Helix update converted it to flat Sweep, so old guides quoting "+5% Sweep" are out of date.
Agatha's Power gives up to +25 sweep.
Miria's Power+25
+5 Sweep per level, 5 levels. The Torrhus Canyon counterpart to Agatha's Power.
Bought from Miria. Stacks with Agatha's Power, so both are worth taking to 5.
Miria's Power gives up to +25 sweep.
Attribute Shards
Strong Legs (Mochibear shard)+0
Not counted. Its Sweep only applies to melee, so it never reaches your foraging stats.
Listed here only so you do not chase it for foraging. The Sweep it grants triggers on melee and never shows in the in-game foraging stat, so Foraging Stats excludes it and so does this total.
Strong Legs (Mochibear shard) gives up to +0 sweep.
Unity is Strength (Tadgang shard)+11
| Formula | level x 0.02 x commons owned, rounded down | |
| Level 10, 55 commons | +11 | |
| Level 10, 29 commons | for comparison | +5 |
| Total | +11 |
11 at level 10 owning all 55 common attributes.
Rewards breadth of attribute collection, which you are building anyway for the David's Cloak milestones. Owning one shard of an attribute is enough to count.
Unity is Strength (Tadgang shard) gives up to +11 sweep.
Groundhog / Nocturnal Animal+10
+1 Sweep per level. Day and night variants now merge to the higher of the two.
Before the update these were separate day and night shards and you had to pick. The update merged them, so your effective level is the higher of the two and the day/night distinction no longer matters.
Groundhog / Nocturnal Animal gives up to +10 sweep.
Tree Milestones (all three)+42
| Fig, tier 7 | 1 per tier | +7 |
| Mangrove, tier 7 | 2 per tier | +14 |
| Helix, tier 7 | 3 per tier | +21 |
| Total | +42 |
42 with all three at tier 7. They stack, so you get all of them at once.
Earned passively by cutting trees. Unlike the Sharpening shards these are not tree-scoped: all three apply no matter which tree you are on, so they add up.
Tree Milestones (all three) gives up to +42 sweep.
Pets
Sloth+25
+25 Sweep at level 100, scaling linearly with level.
A new pet added by the Helix update, and the largest pet Sweep source.
Sloth gives up to +25 sweep.
Frog+10
+10 Sweep at level 100, scaling linearly with level.
Gained a Sweep base stat in the Helix update. Superseded by the Sloth.
Frog gives up to +10 sweep.
Jade Dragon (Jade Scale)+32
| 8-digit Mangrove collection | 4 per digit | +32 |
| Total | +32 |
+4 Sweep per digit of Mangrove collection, so +32 at 8 digits.
Flat Sweep from the same perk that gives the pet its Fortune. Separate from Apex Predator, which is a percentage on your total.
Jade Dragon (Jade Scale) gives up to +32 sweep.
Consumables
Long-Expired Century Cake+5
Flat +5 Sweep while active.
A consumable buff rather than a permanent unlock, so it needs re-applying.
Long-Expired Century Cake gives up to +5 sweep.
Two caveats worth stating plainly. Some sources have no fixed ceiling we can publish, because they scale with another stat or with an unbounded collection, so they are listed but excluded from the total. And only one pet can be active at a time, so pet sources count the best one rather than all of them.
Tree-specific Sweep
These only apply on one tree type, so they never stack with each other. Whichever tree you are cutting, exactly one column below is live and the other two are worth nothing to you at that moment.

Fig Sharpening (Crow shard)+65
| Base | 5 per level x 10 | +50 |
| Echo multiplier | x1.3 | +15 |
| Total | +65 |
65 at level 10 with Echo shards maxed. 50 without them.Fig trees only
Common rarity, 96 shards. Superseded by Helix Sharpening once you move to Torrhus Canyon.
Fig Sharpening (Crow shard) gives up to +65 sweep.
Mangrove only
Mangrove Sharpening (Heron shard)+130
| Base | 10 per level x 10 | +100 |
| Echo multiplier | x1.3 | +30 |
| Total | +130 |
130 at level 10 with Echo shards maxed. 100 without them.Mangrove trees only
Uncommon rarity, 64 shards. Twice the per-level value of Fig Sharpening.
Mangrove Sharpening (Heron shard) gives up to +130 sweep.
Helix only
Helix Sharpening (Vulture shard)+195
| Base | 15 per level x 10 | +150 |
| Echo of Sharpening x Echo of Echoes | x1.3 multiplier at both level 10 | +45 |
| Total | +195 |
195 at level 10 with Echo shards maxed. 150 without them.Helix trees only
The largest Sweep source on Helix trees. Rare, 48 shards. The Echo shards multiply it: Echo of Sharpening gives +2% per level, itself boosted +5% per Echo of Echoes level, so both maxed is x1.3.
Helix Sharpening (Vulture shard) gives up to +195 sweep.
Percentage multipliers
Everything above is flat Sweep. The game adds it all up, then multiplies once. Two percentage bonuses survive the Torrhus Canyon update, and they are applied to your whole total rather than to any single source.
Personal Bests (Fig + Mangrove + Helix)+30%
+10% each, and all three stack, so +30% total.
0.01% per 100 logs in a single contest, capped at 100,000 logs for +10%. All three tree types count at once, whichever tree you are actually cutting.
Jade Dragon, Apex Predator+31.3%
+0.1% per maxed attribute. +31.3% with all 313 maxed.
Uncapped in the code, so it grows with every attribute you max regardless of what that attribute does. The Torrhus Canyon update roughly doubled the shard pool to 314, of which 313 can be unlocked (Chameleon is fusion-only and can never be maxed), so the ceiling here rose a long way. Legendary shards need only 24 to reach level 10, making them the cheapest way to buy this. Requires a Jade Dragon equipped.
| Tree | Flat | x1.613 | Final |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fig | 720.26 | x1.613 | 1161 |
| Mangrove | 785.26 | x1.613 | 1266 |
| Helix | 850.26 | x1.613 | 1371 |
Apex Predator is uncapped in the code, so the +31.3% above assumes all 313 unlockable attributes maxed. Every extra attribute you max is another +0.1% on this entire total, which is why maxing cheap legendaries is worth doing even when the attribute itself does nothing for foraging.
